Results

Results,results,results.Why must there always have results?Well...results make me worried or nervous or even excited.I got worried when I get back my exam results.I get nervous when I got back my tournaments results.The only time when I am feeling happy is when I know I have done my best for that particular thing.Well... that's life and there is nothing we can do about it.Why must they start having exams anyway?Maybe it is because this is a way to have smarter people...Just kidding.Lets get back to the subject.Today,I got back my results for my SA2 exam result.It was the worried feeling today.I still have 1 more paper tomorrow so I am crossing my fingers now.

HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY!!!!!

Happy Children Day to all of you people!!!!!On 29th Sep,we celebrated Children day and Hari Raya in school.The concert was organised by the teachers and it was very amazing that the teachers actually have 'hidden' talents.The goodies given to us by the teachers were surprisingly better than I gave them on Teachers day.I received a goodie bag with a very cute clip,a packet of popcorn,a mechanic pencil and one donut(Seriously,it was very nice.You should try it, people).The concert have teachers and pupils dancing and acting.My teacher acted as the mother and she was very very good.I really enjoy this Children Day although we still homwork on that day.

P5 Camp

It was sure tiring when I was back from the camp but it was a one in a lifetime I think.Well..maybe not because when I ask my cousin,she said that she went to the same camp as I do.(Of course,my cousins is older than me)On 28th August 2008,I went to school, half worried and half happy, wearing my tracks pants and my PE T-shirt.(With a very heavy sling bag)We had to survive for the rest of the day and the next day with only just 2 T-shirts, 2 pairs of pants and a pair of slippers.And of course I would be going to in my tracks shoes.At first,I thought it was going to be kind of like being in a prison(You know why I said that?My cousins said things like washing the dishes for other people....The instructor scolding you all the time....and lots of evil stuff)Well....actually,I packed three sets of clothes.You know,3 T-shirts and 3 pants.Why?My mother always say in case I got dirty or I spill water all over.After all these sayings,i believe you are a bit curious what am I talking about,right?Well...I am talking about what happened when I went for the P5 camp.As I was saying,I did the normal routines.Waited for my friends in the hall and sang the National Anthem.When all the others level had left,we waited for our instructors to come.After a while,Chief Eunice and all the instructors arrived at our school.(FYI,For your information.Chief Eunice is our chief for the camp)We gathered in our groups.I was in Group 8 and my instructor is Daniel.He came up to me and ask for my name.We had an group gathering and Daniel introduce himself and we played a game.Finally,we went on to the bus.Daniel told us that we would be with Group 7.Their instructor was instructor Xiao Wei.We were trap in a jam on our way there and the ride was about 30 minutes.We created a group name for Group 7 and 8.After much brainstorming,Daniel came up with a name.He said we can be called 7 point 8.Why? Because in Anderson, classes are known as like 5 point 6 or 1 point 3.So we would have a brand new class in Anderson.Daniel and Xiao Wei decided to teach us the hungry cheer.It was very fun.I was starting to have some fun.We reach JB without our passports.(FYI,we are going to Jalan Batera)We gathered at the MPH(FYI,The MPH is the multi-purpose hall)The morning rain was like very cruel.We were all praying for the rain to stop.The instructor show us to our huts and I was like so called jealous that our teachers can sleeping an air-conditioned rooms.After that,we had a briefing on the high elements and how to secure our harness.The briefing was extremely boring.We went straight to the high elements.We are suppose to do abseiling and we done it alright.We gathered at hut 1 to discuss what should we perform during the campfire performance.Some of us wanted to play a skit while some wanted to dance.After lots of thinking,we decided to dance.To encourage them,I volunteer to choreograph the dance.Before we go in to the dance,we played a game which concern the whole Major A(also known as Ali).The game is called 'Kidnapped' A friend from one of each group and had to be tied up and left in the command post.(Actually,I knew where they were hidden but Daniel say I have to keep it a secret otherwise there won't be any fun)We had to run around completing all the tasks that are given and guessing where is the key to the lock.When we found our friend,we have to carry him up the stairs which is very dangerous but it all requires teamwork.It was 5.30pm and Daniel let us go for a shower before we practice for the campfire item.Chief Eunice say if we sharing songs with other group,we got to do it better than other.Daniel still encourage us to dance for the performance.We practice for about 45 minutes and most of my group mates actually remember all the dance steps clearly.I was standing in the center of all my friends.I felt very brave as this is my first time performing for everyone without feeling nervous.The campfire was extremely fun.We learn some campfire songs and the instructors too perform as well.We had a competition among some of the instructor.Daniel and Xiao Wei gave us a briefing and they told us how much fun they had with us and when they dismiss us,we were grinning all the way to our hut.We all settle down but we just could not go to sleep.We don't intend to sleep that night and plan to see the sunlight.When we were talking while lying down(in case the instructors see us not asleep)I just close my eyes and fell asleep.I don't know what happened until I woke up in the morning shivering.It was strange...At night,I was like lying down in the middle of the Sahara Dessert but in the morning,it was shivering cold.We had our breakfast and went off for our duty.Xiao Wei was not with us as she went home for some personal matters.We are suppose to clean the boys dormitories and we found sock (including undergarments)We gathered at the MPH for the prize presentation.First,Cheif Eunice gave out for the Best Boy Camper.He was from Group 17(I think)Next,of course is the Best Girl Camper.Chief Eunice describe 'this' girl as a follower at the starting of the day but later became a leader herself.I amit I was a follower but how can I be a leader?When that particuliar moment came,Chief Eunice said my name and I was stunned.Me!The Best Girl Camper!I received the prize and went back to my place.I felt very proud of myself.We went around collecting the instructors autograghs and we all went back happily.I really miss camp and I wish I could go back to JB(Jalan Batera)again.

Ps:Although I lost my water bottle but it was worth the fun.Guess what? I went back,bathe,ate my lunch and went to sleep.(2.30pm-6.00pm)

Beijing Olympics 2008

Congratulation Singapore for coming second in place for the women table tennis in the Olympics.Before all these excitement begins,it started with a wonderful opening ceremony.Li Jia Wei going in to the 'bird nest' in Bei Jing.During that moment,I felt very proud of Singapore.After the march in,they put up a performance well a very interesting one.I can't count it all but I think a hundred of people playing the drum.Don't know how they do it but how fast they beat the drum,the faster the light flickers.It was time for lighting of the Olympics torch.It took them quite a long time to just light the torch.It was cool.Just a kiss and the fire lit the huge torch moulded to the stadium.Fireworks around the stadium shot up.It was uncountable.I could not count the many different kind of fireworks.It lasted about 10-15 minutes.Maybe it was because Bei Jing was the host and they need to welcome the foreigners and at the same time,celebrate the start of the Bei Jing Olympics.Although,Singapore only got a Sliver for table tennis.(which is good enough)But the players show sportsmanship when they step into the stadium.(I know this because I'm a bowler myself and I learn it all but is still more for me to learn)Hope when its time for the youth Olympics...Singapore would be a good host.

Racial Harmony Day

Entering the school gate,I saw a booth with Chinese toys on it.After seeing it,I then realised it was Racial Harmony Day today.Feeling more energetic,I waited patiently for the assembly to start.The teacher when through the schedule on what we are going to do.After finding out that we are going to have an hour of recess,I was surprised.What are we going to do during this one hour.After the explanation what we can do during recess,we went back to class.Two hours of studying wasn't long.While going to the hall,my first impression was some boring speech but the teacher say that it was a skit.During recess,I ate Chinese traditional biscuits an many other stuff.After I ate,Cheryl Teo and I went to the skylite cafe to check out the things.I done a henna which cost me $0.50.It was worth it because it was beautiful.Recess was over and we went back to class happily.In class, we made garland out of string and crepe paper.I made a nice one and it fitted nicely!

National Day Parade

The day finally came.I went to school happily on 12th July 08 which is a Saturday.Why?Every primary five have to go for the National Day Parade.Today it was the day I have been waiting to come.I went to hall expecting that Cheryl Teo(BFF) was there.Well.. I was right.She was there.We waited for some of our friends while we talk about what is going to happened later.After a about 20 minutes of chit chatting,Mr Leong gave us a briefing on what is going later.While waiting for the buses to arrive,I took pictures of my friends and sing along with the songs the teacher had played.Yah! the buses finally arrive and we went to collect our fun pack and dinner(which is burgers)When I went on to the bus,I look inside my fun pack,a packet drink in my bag was leaking so my bag was sticky and wet.It is a good thing i brought a extra bag.I separated the wet things away from the things that were dry.It was a long drive which took us 30 minutes.When we got off the bus,we walk to the seating gallery.When we enter,it took us 10 minutes until we can sit down as we need to climb the huge flight of stairs and finding our seats take time too.Once I was seated,the loud booming sound of the host's voice was heard.Then,the celebrity hosts riding on jet skis coming to the platform. While watching the show,I ate my Burger and swing my flag at the same time.Night has fallen and the colourful lights switch on by the performers were beautiful.The booming of the fireworks was heard and it was extremely pretty.At the end of the performance,we sang the National Anthem.It was the first time I sang it so loudly.That day I went home tired and hungry but happy.

Lets get started on the meaningful meaning of these special words.Sincerity has a meaning of genuineness, honesty, and freedom.The meaning for passion for learning is that you have a passion to learn and everytime you have a chance to learn you will always participate.Integrity...It is simple.The meaning of it is to be honest.Courage is to have a quality of spirit that enables you to face danger or pain without showing fear.Excellence is to have the quality of excelling; possessing good qualities in high degree.Self-discipline means that you can control yourself in what ever you do or say.Thats all signing off.

Reflection:Netiquette

What is Netiquette?Netiquette is courtesy.Good manners is important even in Cyberspace.Here are the rules:
Use capital letters when necessary.
Send only important e-mails to others.
Respect others privacy and personality.
So on and so on.There are many other rules but I can't list them all down as there were too many.Just remember to use the correct way when communicating in Cyberspace.

Personal Response : Earthquakes

Earthquake is a terrible disaster.It can cause buildings to collapse and people to lose their friends and family.If there is a earthquakes,people should hide under a table or wall.Or try to run to open field.I don't think scienctist cannot detect earthquakes.Earthquakes have occur in many places.Some of the most serious ones are in China,Indonasia,USA,Japan and many more.These countries have earthquakes because underneath them there are volcanoes and they erupt,countries would began to shake.There would not be any earthquakes in Singapore because there is no volcanoes under us.

Reflection 4 : Food Sold in our Canteen

Food sold in the canteen are delicious...I eat almost everyday in the school canteen.I would have to eat at the canteen because I have to have my break and get some refreshment or stayed back and I would have to have my lunch.I love most of the stall but my favourite is the drink stall where they sell beverages.Food that are sold at the canteen are........not healthy because the stall vendors put lots of MSGs in the food that make the food taste delicious.Well......Not all food are not healthy,food like cereal,bread and lots more are healthy.Cleanness.......Of courses the food are clean otherwise chlidren would be sick.Maybe fresh fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice can be sold to add on to the amount of healthy food in the canteen.I think the school canteen is one of our school special places so we should keep it clean.

Personal Response 3 : Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease

Hand,Foot & Mouth Disease is a disease that is easily infected by children.HFMD is easy to get infected.If you have fever,sore throat,ulcers in throat and mouth,headache,rashes and loss of appetite,you might had got infected.Some say that children under five is most likely to get infected...Well.......I think it's true as they don't know a lot about their personal hygiene.We can prevent it from happening if we wash our hands before and after we eats.Although,I have never get infected before but My brother has it before.He said that it was very painful as there was ulcers in his mouth and on his hands.My brother stayed at home all the time because he might spread it to his classmates.I advice all children to know their personal hygiene and take good care of themselves.

Reflection 3: Friendship

Friendship is like the relationship between lots of friend or just two friends.The importance of having Friends is because if a person does not have friend,the person would be very lonely.we can make friends just by saying hello.Like other Singaporeans,they can make friends with foreigners.In this way,we have more friends and learn more about their tradition.On Intentional Friendship Day,there was many fun and interesting facts for us to learn.I love the show the people put up for us because those movements they show was fantastic.Specially the WuShu performance.Maybe next international friendship day,we could have the Japanese to perform a dance for us.

Personal Response 2 : Courtesy

Courtesy is a good example of kindness.I think the fable from China has the best example of courtesy because it is suppose to be eldest should give way to the youngest but in the fable it is kong rong who gave the biggest and sweetest to his brothers and sisters.All of my classmate are courteous altough some are mischevious.We can show our courtesy to others by speaking politely and not shouting at others.

Reflection 2:My Dream

My dream is to become a national bowler.It is important to me because bowling is my passion,my interest and my hobby and it will always will.How to achieve it?I must work hard and train hard too.My couch told me that if were to have the chance,I will be training all day for tournaments and not only for one or two hours but loads.After hearing his words,I did not gave up to thrive to be national bowler.If i give up so easily,I would not have sportsmanship and how am I going to tournaments like that.I will continue to work hard and must not give up.Others should have their dreams too because this give them a target and trying to achieve what they want.

Personal Response:Racial Harmony

Racial Harmony is help races understand each other and not to create riots.Creating disagreement with other races may cause people to suffer.People disagree with each other when they had a argument or insulting the race.As for Rajah's solution..... If everyone were the same race,we would not have interesting cultures to learn from each other.For example,if there isn't Chinese,we can't admire the fire cracker being displayed at Chinatown.How can we encourage each other to make friends?Maybe by understanding other races better in that way,we won't make fun of other races.We could set up exhibition about other countries and interesting things from there too.And we could see how or what they do during thier special festival.

Reflection:Looking forward

When the results were back,I had butterfly in my stomach."how am I going to show these to my parents"I thought.My result for English were like HELL.It was very bad but in the end,I still show it to my parents.(well.....,I show it to my father after I show it to my mom)To my surprised, both my parents did not scold me but instead comfort me.They told me that I have tried my best but I can do better.They were proud for my Maths,Science and Mother Tongue.I told myself that I HAVE to improve but how????????????Maybe I can read more storybooks,do more exersise book,I can improve better.But best of all I have to tried my best.>_<

A trip to Bukit Chandu and Old Ford Factory

The day finally came.I have waited so long for the day to come.Ah yes!This very day is when all my friends and I will be going on a learning journey to Bukit Chandu and Old Ford Factory with my teacher,Mrs Azhar.I partnered Cheryl Teo when we was instruted to find a partner and I can always be found with her as she is my best friend.Nobody can separate us. We board the bus at about 8pm.It took about 30 minutes to Old Ford Factory.The tour guide's name was Vincent.I called him Mr Vincent because it is rude to call an adult by his or her name.First,we went up to the AV theatre to watch two video.The first video is about Lieutinant Adnan how he fought with the japanese at Bukit Chandu.The second video is about the japanese occupation.After that,we went to the time tunnel to see the room where the British surrendered to the japanese.We saw many interesting things in the "tunnel".Then,we went to the back of the bulding to see many vegetable growing healthly.We took a few pictures of the whloe class in front of the building and set off to Bukit Chandu.We saw many fascinating videos and other stuffs there too.I wish to go out with my class once more or many other times as it was very fun on that day.

Total Defence Day

Total Defence Day is the day when the british surrendered to the japanese.We will remember the day as Singapore was known as the fortress and that is why all boys have to go to National Service for about two years.On 15th February,we will celebrate Total Defence Day and we will always be ready.
