5th H1N1-related death in Singapore

Recently, a 34 year old Chinese woman passed away of pneumonia (a disease), with Influenza A (H1N1) infection as a contributing factor. Meanwhile, four more other H1N1 patients were admitted into ICU. The youngest is a 9 year old Chinese girl. Luckily, this little girl's condition is stable. The second case was a 23-year-old Malay man who had a history of epileptic fits. He developed high fever, drowsiness and seizures on July 25, and was admitted directly from the Emergency Department to the ICU on July 26. Laboratory tests confirmed he has Influenza A (H1N1). His condition is stable. The third patient was a 29-year-old Indian woman with no previous medical history. She sought treatment at Changi General Hospital (CGH) Emergency Department on July 25 after two days of fever, cough and chest discomfort. Test has confirmed that she has been affected by Influenza A. The fourth patient admitted into ICU was a 34-year-old Chinese man with a history of Down's syndrome. He sought treatment at CGH's Emergency Department on July 23 after two weeks of cough, sore throat and fever. And he was too confirmed of Influenza A. It is said that more people will die. If this gets worse, less people will want to travel overseas which will affect many countries economy. Same goes to Singapore. If less foreigners come here, Sentosa would very quiet. (Because that is where foreigners usually goes)I hope this doesn't get worse and hope everything would go back to normal.

Our Environment

Protecting our environment is important. Since the development of science and technology has improved for the past few decades, our environment had been harmed by our doings. Every day the amount of electricity wasted is unbelievable. Now people are more aware of the harming of our environment. That is why Earthlings are willing to participate in activities like Earth Hour, Earth Day and so on and so forth. Though, there are still who still don't care about what is happening around them. They don't change their usual routine to a more energy saving one. Seeing everything we are doing to Mother Earth, I am seriously afraid that my life wouldn't last long. Why can't people think for themselves? If they don't, why can't they spare a thought for others? There are still people who want to live on to persuade their dreams. There are still young people out there, wanting to live on and find their own lifes. We should not think that the Earth could not be saved. If that's what you think then you are wrong. There are still ways we can save the Earth. For example, we can turn on the fans instead of switching on the air-conditioning at night. Even if we on to the maximum for the fan, it still can save ten times less of electricity then turning on the air-con. I am not encouraging people to stop using the air-con. What I meant was to just switch it on once in a while. Because of our growing population, we had to get rid of trees to build houses. This is what we call deforestations and it will lead to soil erosion causing landslide to take lives away. Look what man had done to the Earth. There had been more cases of acid rain and, unlike the past, Singapore used to be a fresh aired country. We would not have to switch on the air-con and harm Mother Earth. So let's save the Earth together.
